Don Bosco Viet Nam Province began to
open the Novitiate in 1960 and from 1961, sent the Students of Philosophy to
Cheung Chau, Hong Kong.
After three years, from 1964 the
Students of Theology were sent to Italy, either in Rome or in Messina, Sicily.
The first group that studied in PAS was Fr. John Ty and Fr. Dominic Uyen. The
first group that studied in Messina was Fr. Mark Huynh, Fr. Joseph Su (left), Fr.
John Baptist Phuc (left) and Fr. Joseph My.
From 1970, the students of Theology
began to study at Pontifical College of Saint Pius X in Dat Lat, Viet Nam :
1970-1971 : Mgr. Peter De and Fr.
Michael Phung (dead)
1971-1972 : Fr. Peter Ba and Fr. Joseph
Hiep (all left)
1972-1973 : Fr. John Baptist Khoi, Fr.
John Baptist Them, Fr. Joseph Thuyet and Bro. Iraeneus Son (left)
1973-1974 : Fr. Joseph Hinh, Fr. John
Baptist Huong (left) Fr. Peter Thuy
1974-1975 : Fr. Joseph Huu, Fr. John
Kich, Fr. Joseph Nam, Fr. Joseph Quang, Fr. Joseph Thai, Fr. Joseph Tuan and
Fr. Peter Thuan
From 1975 The Students of Theology studied “at home”, either in Da Lat
Salesian House of Studies, in Lien Khuong, Thanh Binh, Hoc Mon, Cau Bong, Ba
Thon and Xuan Hiep.
1992-1993 : At Ben Cat Community, the Theologate began its new phase with
the following students : Fr. Joseph Dung, Fr. Andrew Khanh, Fr. Joseph Thuyen.
1994-1995 : It was moved to Da Lat Salesian House of Studies (2 Classes).
Fr. Michael Phung was Rector (1994-1997)
1995-1996 : It was moved to Xuan Hiep, next to Provincial House (3 Classes)
1996-1997 : Four Classes
01-04-1998 : It was canonically erected.
And in July 27, 2010 it was affiliated
to UPS for three years “ad experimentum”
